What Personal Information does Scripture Union collect about you?

The types of information we gather include:

We do not make the information you give us available to third parties, but it should be noted that the username you choose is visible if you post in our online forums so we do not recomment using an email address or other sensitive information in your username.

How secure is my personal information?

We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software which encrypts information you input. If using a modern web browser, you should see the address bar turn green and a padlock sign will appear whenever you are in a part of the website which may include your personal details.

We do not reveal any of the digits of your credit card numbers when confirming an order. We download your order via encryption software for the purposes of processing and charging the order to your credit/debit card, and we store the order details securely in paper form in accordance with accountancy rules.

We do not retain your credit/debit card details on our servers once your payment has been approved.

You should protect against unauthorised access to your own computer. It is important to sign off when you finish using a shared computer.

What options do I have?

As discussed above, you can always opt not to provide information, even though it might be needed to make a purchase. You do not need to be logged in to order or donate on our website.

If you are not logged in, you can still add or update certain information such as your name, address and other contact details to your order.
